Tentative plans to reopen Cascades Gateway Park to the public are underway, with the goal of August 1. In addition to locations throughout the community, staff are aware and monitoring conditions of encampment activity regularly at and around Coral Avenue area properties and within Salem parks (Northgate, River Road, Lansing, Hoover, Wallace Marine, and Cascades Gateway). High water levels have delayed a clean-up, but focus will return to waterways. The City is also aware of additional waste in the Willamette Slough. Work continues at Claggett Creek Natural Area where accumulated garbage is regularly removed.
